(1955 , Dutch nationality) is a highly experienced marketeer and retailer. He is strongly customer focused and has over 30 years of experience in building (retail-)brands, driving customer loyalty and developing innovative services. René has held various board positions at Unigro, Karwei, C1000 and Brandloyalty international.
Within the above mentioned companies René was end responsible for various activities like sourcing, supply chain, information technology, marketing and store-ops.
With a strong customer focus his challenge is improving customer service at lower cost. For instance he designed a very successful new supermarket format, redesigned a supply chain building a centralized slow mover warehouse, executed strong brand-campaigns (At C1000: ‘no thrills’) and developed innovative services like a mobile point-collecting system using NFC.
